Hometown Autumn Shindig
Our beloved Pumpkin Fest Parade begins.
This was Blaine's first parade and he made lots of friends.
Pumpkin of the Opera was one of my favorite floats.
This little train bus was too cute. It even has a website mytrain.com, but be warned the website froze up my Firefox.
After the parade, we made Frogmore Stew (which is really not a stew and does not have any frogs in it). I have been wanting to make this since I first saw it in the September issue of Cooking Light. There is nothing better than enjpying peel & eat shrimp & spicy sausage outside by the fire.
Everyone also joined in some pumpkin painting. I chose the Martha Stewart glitter route and made sparkly little ones. They had a nice autumn colored glitter multi-pack at Jo-Ann that worked well.

Ever notice how the purpose of a bath is to relax, but when you are in that water-filled porcelian cocoon your mind just wanders?

Little Art in the Big Show
(Forgot the camera at home, but did manage to get this shot with a cam phone.)
Despite a lot of trouble getting to the gallery (the whole night was full of strange and long adventures) the show was fabulous! Lot of people, lots of art, lots of food (well only for awhile, soon all that remained was cold peanut noodles, but good cold peanut noodles I might add) and lots of music.
I was so nervous because this was my first "big" show. But once we got there, realized there was nothing to be nervous about. All I had to do that night was relax, have a glass of wine and enjoy all the artwork that was on display. And there were some fantastic pieces! A few of my favorites were Zoe Asta's 'Lizard', Brian Dortmind's 'Kilter', Kim Hoffman's 'Life Forms 4' & Kamelia Hristeva's 'The Alturists'.
The show is still going on until November 4th, so if you have a chance to get out to Bridgeport then check it out! I also have a few postcards left over so if you are interested in one, email me your mailing address and I'll pop it in the mail.
Thank you to everyone that came out opening night! I love you guys!
